A statement from LIUNA Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager Dennis L. Martire announcing LIUNA Mid-Atlantic's endorsement of Anthony Brown for Maryland Attorney General
Reston, Va. (March 15, 2022) - Over the span of two decades and several government positions, Anthony Brown has consistently been a voice for Maryland’s working families. With years of commitment to improving the lives of working men and women in Maryland, the approximately 40,000 members of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA Mid-Atlantic) are proud to endorse Anthony Brown for Maryland Attorney General.
As a state delegate, lieutenant governor and now currently the U.S. Representative of Maryland’s 4th District, Representative Brown has shown a genuine care for working Marylanders. He could not be further from politicians who only address workers’ needs when the political winds are blowing in their direction. I can count on a phone call from Representative Brown regularly to discuss the issues facing Maryland’s working families and new opportunities that he is working to create.
Representative Brown is an experienced leader that knows how to bring new jobs to Maryland that protect and support the local workforce. As a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, he has made decisions that directly impact LIUNA members who build Maryland’s infrastructure. Recognizing that strong labor standards are critical to strong infrastructure, he voted in favor of the historic bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that will invest nearly $800 million in Maryland’s infrastructure and create thousands of jobs that pay good union wages and benefits.
Working Marylanders need an attorney general who is going to fight for them through thick and thin, and that is Anthony Brown. We proudly and strongly stand with Anthony Brown just as he has stood with Maryland’s working families throughout his career.
